Visit AQUA – Mid Jutland’s big adventure centre with Northern Europe's largest freshwater aquarium and beautiful nature park by Silkeborg lakes with animal enclosures and a fun water play area with water cannons, locks and other water fun! View it all from below as otters and ferocious predatory fish hunt in the depths of the lake, diving ducks and beavers building dams. AQUA has activities for all ages - both inside and out. You can stroke the fish in the large touch pool and take part when zookeepers feed the animals. There is a daily activity program with feedings, talks, etc. AQUA is a family experience. In bright sunshine and rain - all year round.

Year's news - Water Power in 2012

AQUA will become even more fun and exciting when "Water Power" opens in the park in May 2012, with many new water activities. People of all ages can discover the power of water in the water mills, wells and sail the boats in locks.

Voyage of discovery in the North Sea

North Sea Oceanarium is Northern Europe’s biggest aquarium. Here you can visit the sunfish in the huge oceanarium containing 4.5 million litres of water and see the seals playing in the outdoor sealarium.

Since 5 June 2010 it’s also been possible to embark on an “expedition” with Skipper and the rest of his crew. Your expedition has seven destinations – on land, on sea and all the way down to the very depths of the North Sea. You decide the order yourself, as well as how long you wish to spend exploring each destination.

In 2010 we built new aquariums and interactive experiences for DKK 54.2 million. The result is an ultra-modern aquarium and learning centre where you and your family can go on a voyage of discovery to 7 destinations in the North Sea – on land, on sea and all the way down to the very depths of the North Sea. Experience the Stornoway Wreck, Jutland Reef and Norwegian Trench and stand on the bridge of the expedition ship and feel the deck moving beneath your feet.

Fish from the pier with a digital fishing rod, buy your wares at the virtual fish auction, touch a ray and see the children having fun at our specially designed playgrounds, the Sperm Whale and Hirtshals Lighthouse. And much, much more besides…
